What the hell is web operating system?

Web operating system or webOS is web application that allows users to manage their files using only web browser. Like traditional operating systems(Mac OS, Microsoft Windows,Linux, BSD, Solaris) web operating systems also have their applications or programs. Simple ideas like file type and application connection also are used in web operating systems. The main plus of web operating system is web persistence that makes usage and sharing of system files possible from anywhere in the world where internet connection is available, without installing special software. Web operating systems also have minuses and main minus is that, because amount of client side scirpt is very big, some browsers can not process scripts.



What is Soongy webOS?

Soongy is web operating system that includes the best ideas in other webOS-es and is much more simpler then others. The main plus of system is that user may upload his files and view them online without any registration. System started his work from March 2009 and is improving day by day to become the best webOS. The main features of system are:

  • Registration is not mandatory
  • Hierarchical file storage in web
  • User may drag and drop files from desktop to folder and from folder to to folder
  • Total upload space per user is unlimited, but each file max size is 50MB
  • Easy right click functionality on files exists
  • User may download your files not only directly, but also archived
  • User may share his files and make them accessible for others
  • User may upload his files not only from PC, but also using external url
